If money is no object then the six-core Intel Core i7 processor is the cream of the crop at this time.

If it is value you seek, then look no further than the AMD Phenom II x6.

The Phenom II X6 1090T BE is expected to hit shelves at just under $300, making it three times more affordable than the Core i7 980X. At this price, this 3.2GHz 6-core processor will be right with the Core i7 930 and Core i7 860 from Intel. This is a fully unlocked Black Edition chip that depending on how you wish to over-clock it could be a real bargain.

I would recommend the x6 to anyone who can’t easily have the i7 in their budget.

With no overclock it can achieve speeds at about 95% of the i7′s top processor build.  With overclocking it seems rather obvious which will perform better.

Unlimited budget? Go for the i7… any other situation… Phenom II x6 is king.

PWN Enterprises is going to look at some pros and cons about Apple’s recent release of the iPad.

We have 2 perspectives here.  Myself, and Nathanial Hemingway’s.

First off, we both agree that as far as tablet\touchpads are concerned this is the most stylish, comfortable and sleek tablet available.

I traditionally don’t like to start off sentences with however….

HOWEVER, the iPad fails on a few different levels.  Its general lack of straight usability and features leaves a little to be desired.  At first, you notice that it is very similar to the iPhone.  This is by design, the iPad uses the iPhone operating system.  This hurts its multi-taskability.  Before getting into to much more detail i am going to list my Pros and Cons along with Nate’s pros and cons.  You can draw your own conclusions.

Ron & Nate’s PROs and CONs

PROs:

1.  Application support is still cutting edge, most third party applications will work on the iPad.

2.  The iPad works decently on the 802.11n wireless network protocol.

3.  Battery life benchmarks are phenominal! Audio, Video and Tablet usage are all above industry standard.

4. $500… not bad!

5.  The iPad is equipped with a 3G-assisted GPS, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, Apple’s custom 1 GHz Apple A4 chip and is multitouch compatible.

6.  HTML-5 Compatible, HTML-5 is the future…

CONs:

1. Multi-tasking applications are non-existant, if you are used to doing a few things at once… this is not for you.

2.  There have been numerous reports that the iPad’s wireless is incompatible and flaky with any network protocol that is not N.  It also is significantly slower than the 3G iPhone’s download speed.  An astonishing 90% speed difference between the iPhone and iPad.

3.  The iPad battery takes significantly more power than the iPhone, but still uses a similar batter type.  The battery will fade with age.  Much like the iPhone, you will need to goto Apple to replace the battery once you get what is commonly known as cell-block.  It looks like Apple didn’t learn their lesson with the MacBook, maybe Apple thinks it’s dumb to make the most unreliable piece of a portable computer… replaceable.

4.  When switching to 3G for the internet speed and service, as well as the non replacable battery… you are looking at an additional $200.00.

5.  NO CAMERA?!?  An accelerometer and no camera? No Skype, no pictures, no video… basically no fun!

6.  NO Flash player? Really Apple? Really?

I admire the fact that Apple usually takes its time and releases the product it intends to make.  While I am a PC user that is something I have always admired about that company.  Microsoft has a tendency to push products early and fix them later.  Trying to make a revolutionary piece of equipment takes time, and does not need to be rushed.  It looks like this time Apple went against their normal protocol here for the bucks.
